Bradley Newman: keyboard; Dennis Quinlan: banjo;
Stan Valacos: double bass; Graham Hilgendorf, drums.
The Bridge City Jazz Band formed in July 2003, initially to continue a residency at Club Ashfield. Since then it plays across Australia as a 5 piece group due to efforts of drummer, Jim Morrell, Double bass player Colin Davies, banjo player Dennis Quinlan, and trombonist, John Bates. Following the retirement of Jim Morell and the death of John Bates, the band is currently run by Colin Davies and Dennis Quinlan with Jack Wiard as reed player and Mike Hallam as trombone player and vocalist. So the group is currently a quartet, but adds a trumpet lead, pianist and drummer from a select group of top traditional jazz players from as far north as Newcastle and south as Canberra, making a 7 piece traditional jazz band. In fact the only 7 piece jazz band playing on a regular basis in the Sydney area.
