Featuring Bill Dudley and the New Orleanians

12:30 pm to 3:30 pm Thursday 26th January 2023
Bill Dudley is coming down from Cairns and joining up with a number of his old band members, The New Orleanians.
Bill was the leader and founder of New Zenith Jazz Band in 1986 and had gigs at many Sydney venues until 1991 when he and his band toured overseas and played at Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival. On his return Bill formed the New Orleanians band which played at numerous hotels and bars in Sydney. Bill led the New Orleanians until his departure to Cairns in 2017.
The New Orleanians then reformed under the name of The Stompin’ Rhythm Aces, led by Carolyn Packer. You have enjoyed many a wonderful afternoon with Carolyn and her band so you can certainly expect this same level of entertainment from Bill Dudley and his New Orleanians band.
There will be a door prize.

For many years, Sydney Jazz Club has hosted a day on Sydney Harbour with live Traditional Jazz for Australia Day. It has long been the best day out of the year. Unfortunately, COVID put a stop to these arrangements and post COVID the cost of the boat hire has spiraled to a level that makes the day too expensive and not good value for our members. So we will gather in 2023 at our regular venue, the Freeway Hotel in Artarmon. It will be a good day of music with a BBQ lunch on sale.
